Why Gateway Core Exists
Gateway Core provides deterministic runtime governance for consequential software. It evaluates runtime events against configured policy before they are accepted downstream.
The purpose is not to replace engineering review or monitoring. It is to make configured runtime decisions explicit, bounded, and reviewable.
Design Principles
Deterministic: the same configured policy and event conditions are intended to yield the same governance result.
Policy-Bounded: enforcement remains within configured rules and repair limits.
Evidence-Producing: governed decisions can record an evidence trail for review.
Offline-Capable: the architecture is designed to operate without an AI dependency.
Runtime Modes
Safe Mode: block a policy-triggering violation and record the decision when containment is more important than continuity.
Active Mode: allow only a configured bounded repair, record the original event, guard result, repair action, and final result.
Evidence as a First-Class Output
A governed decision can record the event type, runtime lane, configured guard result, policy decision, enforcement action, original or repaired payload where applicable, and hash-linked record.
The result is a tamper-evident decision trail for technical review and replay.
Demonstrated Governance Classes
Configured demonstrations cover runtime event evaluation, policy-bounded allow or block decisions, bounded repair where configured, and hash-linked evidence capture.
